Elaine Miller is a painter and muralist whose work explores the landscape genre as a conveyance for the many layers of reality. The paintings promote a consciousness and connection to the natural world, and addresses our relationships to nature, to each other and to ourselves. Miller holds an MA in printmaking from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio and an MFA in painting from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois. The artist recently had solo exhibitions at Epiphany Center for the Arts, Chicago; Quad City Art Center, Rock Island, Illinois; and Beverly Art Center, Chicago. She has participated in exhibitions at The Cliff Dwellers Club, Chicago; Judith Racht Gallery, Herbert, MI and Chicago; and Hoffman La Chance Contemporary, St. Louis, MO; among others. In 2018, she was the recipient of a grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs to develop a public art project.; a series of paintings for three billboards which advertised the seasonal changes of the nearby urban forest preserve. Miller currently lives and works in Chicago.
